Caring for Momma

mental health.jpg

One out of eight women suffer from postpartum depression.  Yet, 20% of pregnant women are not being screened for symptoms.  Regardless of diagnosis, poor maternal mental health negatively impacts the upbringing of a child, leading to behavioral issues, developmental delays, and poor learning outcomes.

But what the statistics also show is, Mama, you are not alone.  The purpose of this talk is to educate, not only mothers, but their spouses/significant others and families on the importance of maternal self-care.  If time/space permits, we also do small group sessions to allow mothers a chance to voice their experiences.  Workshops can be done for various coping skills, and workshops for spouses to allow them the chance to see how they could help in the healing process.

This talk is not limited to new mothers, but to mothers of all stages of motherhood.
